Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam has said that the country’s important and busy airports will be upgraded to international standards in phases. As part of this, the government is actively considering converting Syedpur Airport into an international airport.
He said these things while interacting with journalists at Saidpur Airport in Nilphamari on Wednesday (May 20) morning.
The minister said that as per the promise made by the Prime Minister, work will be done to implement the plan to upgrade Saidpur Airport to an international airport. The government is conducting development activities with the interests of the people in mind.
He further said that a short time has passed since the current government took office. Therefore, various development projects will be implemented step by step. Initiatives have been taken to implement the promises made by the Prime Minister in phases.
Afroza Khanam rita urged journalists to be patient and said that the government is working sincerely to modernize the country’s airports and improve the quality of services. Airports that will play an important role for the country’s economy, communication and people will be upgraded to international standards.
Later, he left for Thakurgaon district by road. Saidpur Political District BNP President Abdur Gafur Sarkar, General Secretary Shahin Akhtar and local leaders and activists were present at the time.
