Bogura will be transformed into one of the country’s aviation hubs by utilizing the potential of the northern region: Minister of Aviation and Tourism

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam, MP, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Em Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP, and State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, MP, visited Bogra Airport in a special air force helicopter today.

During the visit, Minister Afroza Khanam MP said, “We have come to visit Bogura under the direction of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. By utilizing the potential of the northern region, Bogura will be transformed into one of the aviation hubs of the country. The people of Bogra are truly lucky. The journey of this big plan of the ministry is starting from Bogura.”
State Minister Em Rashiduzzaman Millat MP said that in addition to building an international-standard airport in Bogura, a plan has been taken to build a 10,500-foot-long runway so that domestic and international aircraft can land. At the same time, cargo facilities will be set up, which will play an important role in the agricultural, industrial and export trade of the northern region.

The government has taken the initiative to expand Bogura Airport to establish a pilot training academy and cargo facilities with the aim of opening new horizons in the communication, trade and aviation sectors of the northern region. Today’s visit is aimed at implementing this initiative.

Among others present during the inspection were Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmud Khan, Chief of the Bangladesh Air Force, BBP, OSP, GUP, NSWC, PSC, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Fahmida Akhtar ndc, and senior officials of the ministry and the concerned airports.
