Aviation and Tourism Minister directs to resume flights on Dhaka-Narita route

The Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism has given instructions to resume flights on the Dhaka-Narita route. The Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism gave this instruction at a meeting regarding the purchase of Boeing aircraft at the conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism at 11 am today. The meeting discussed in detail the possible outline of increasing the fleet of Biman Bangladesh Airlines to 47 aircraft by the fiscal year 2034-35. To this end, the issue of adding Boeing aircraft was reviewed. In addition, the initiatives taken during the previous government were also reviewed in the meeting.

In the chairman’s speech, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Afroza Khanam, MP said that before adding each aircraft, it is necessary to formulate a comprehensive action plan in the light of route-based revenue analysis. He further mentioned that it is possible to make Biman Bangladesh Airlines a more profitable and passenger-friendly organization by taking timely and practical steps.

State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat, MP said that activities should be continued to take forward the necessary processes regarding the addition of Boeing aircraft. He stressed the importance of ensuring the timeliness of the supply process and called on all concerned to work together to include new aircraft in the fleet during the current government’s tenure in light of existing plans.

Besides, he gave directions on taking necessary preparations to resume flight operations on the Dhaka-Narita route. The meeting was attended by Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Fahmida Akhtar, ndc; Managing Director of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, and senior officials of the ministry and related organizations.
