Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita MP has said that everyone concerned must be responsible so that the benefits of development projects implemented with public money actually return to the people.
The minister made this statement as the chief guest at the RADP implementation progress review meeting for the month of April 2026 for the fiscal year 2025-26 at the conference room of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism at the Bangladesh Secretariat on Saturday morning.
The minister said that the remaining work of the ongoing projects should be completed as soon as possible as per the instructions of the Prime Minister of the current government. At the same time, he emphasized the need to properly verify the financial capacity of new projects in the future for the development of the aviation and tourism sectors before taking them up.
He also said that it is very important to have a well-planned work plan before constructing any infrastructure or facility. In addition, the concerned officials must play a more careful and responsible role in monitoring the progress of the contractors’ work.
The minister said that ensuring transparency and accountability in project implementation is very important. He directed to work with strict monitoring at all levels for this purpose.
The meeting, chaired by Fahmida Akhtar, Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, was also attended by Air Vice Marshal Mustafa Mahmud Siddique, senior officials of the ministry and the Ministry of Civil Aviation, and directors of various ongoing projects.
